Seasons of Life

At Creation God created the perfect climate - no rain, no snow, no extremes - God came and walked with Adam in the cool of the evening and at night the dew watered the earth.  Then sin.  Noah's generation was the first to experience rain and plenty of it! Now we have extremes of weather and four seasons every year. Our life also exhibits seasons. Ups and downs, good and not so good; hard days and fun days.  Great health and challenges of disease or accident. Financial freedom and financial challenge. Relationships that make us laugh and relationships that lead to sorrow. Just as the seasons give us the food growing elements so the seasons in our lives grow us and the pressures of the storms create a strength within us called wisdom.

In the season of the weather we take a variety of measures to protect ourselves - umbrellas and warm coats in winter or sun hats and sunscreen in the summer.  Our Heavenly Father has provided protection for us in the seasons of our everyday life also. Check out the articles and blogs on The Ledge Online to find out more about them.

Unbelief is the root of all other actions of thought that take us away from God and His directives – be they fears, worry, jealousy, envy, anxiety and the list is endless. Simply put, it is the root of all sin.

We have better ideas, want a more comfortable life, want to control our circumstances and too often even the preachers of God’s word agree with you.

Not to respond to God’s message results in losses and defeats. Why do I ‘flat-line’ in the Christian life with only an occasional beep of victory? It’s all because you and I do not take God seriously.

God means what He says.  Despite our education and supposed brilliance of mind, He will not respond to anything but His way. He says, ‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways’ (Isaiah 55:9). ‘Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men and the weakness of God is stronger than men’ (1Corinthians 1:25).

Victory in life has nothing to do with our perfection, or, we would never enjoy any victories this side of death.

But victory is based on seeking the wisdom of God through reading the Bible and prayer to shape what we know. Then the out-working is based upon what we do with what we know.

If we are caught unexpectedly on empty spiritually because we have not stayed close to our source of strength on a regular basis victory moments will be few and far between.  Don`t shake your fist at God - take God seriously.
